More options for "Entry title"

I have a collection with a rich text field called “text”. Because it is rich text, I can’t use it as the entry title when I configure the view. This is very inconvenient because I’m either faced with not having a label, or having to duplicate the data with a normal text field called “InternalLabel”

A general option to customize the format of the entry title would be great! Examples are truncating long text, removing rich text formatting, custom date formats, aggregated info about components e.g. "5 blocks".
